A Canyonville man was jailed for a reported elude incident on Monday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:15 p.m. a deputy saw a female driving a sedan and followed it to the parking lot of a business in the 300 block of North Main Street in Canyonville. It appeared to only be occupied by the driver, but immediately after parking a man took off running from the passenger seat.

The 38-year-old was located and taken into custody within a few minutes. He was charged with attempting to elude police on foot and third-degree escape. The man was detained without bail.
