A woman was jailed for an alleged DUII incident on Sunday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 8:00 p.m. the 75-year-old failed to negotiate a turn and drove through a fence in the 12900 block of Driver Valley Road in the Oakland area. The SUV continued across a field for approximately 150 yards before crashing into a gate. The woman then reportedly drove it across the road and then crashed it into a ditch.
The woman was found to be impaired at the scene and refused standard field sobriety tests. A deputy then applied for a search warrant for her blood, and it was granted. The woman’s blood was drawn at CHI Mercy Medical Center before she was transported to corrections.
She was detained for driving under the influence of intoxicants and cited for the refusal. The woman was detained without bail. She was released from jail on Monday morning.
