MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED FOR RENTAL CAR THEFT INCIDENT

A Myrtle Creek man was jailed Sunday for a rental car theft incident.

A DCSO report said the 42-year-old had earlier rented a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car and it was not returned. The man alleged sold it to a victim for $9,500. A second vehicle was rented from Hertz Car Rental and was not returned as well.

Both vehicles were recovered, and the man was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and first-degree theft by deception. He was detained without bail.
