ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR CAMPING, CITE HIM FOR DRUGS

Roseburg Police jailed a man for prohibited camping and cited him on a drug charge on Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said at 7:45 a.m. officers conducted a security check in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. They found a camp, occupied by a 34-year-old man, not in compliance with the city’s time, place and manner standards. The man already had two previous convictions for prohibited camping. He was transported to corrections.

While officers were conducting a search, the man was allegedly found to be in possession of a small white crystal substance concealed in a coat pocket. He admitted that the substance was methamphetamine. It reportedly weighed 0.6 grams.

The man was detained on $5,000 bail.
