Little Women the Musical opens Thursday night at Umpqua Actors Community Theatre.
A UACT release said based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested. Her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she must do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters, and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
Little Women is on stage Thursday through Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. through April 20th. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children ages 12 and under. Purchase tickets by calling 673-2125 or at www.uact-theatre.com
