Sutherlin Police jailed a man for unauthorized use of a vehicle on Tuesday.

An SPD report said at 7:00 p.m. a victim called dispatch to say his vehicle had been taken from a parking lot in the 1300 block of West Central Avenue. The man said he had not given anyone permission to take the vehicle and had recently lost his keys to it.

The vehicle was recovered at Hastings Transient Village in the 100 block of East Central Avenue. 29-year-old Mathal Beason was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft. Beason was detained without bail.
