Roseburg Police jailed a man for failure to register as a sex offender on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 4:15 p.m. the 67-year-old was detained by VA police for unrelated reasons in the 900 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. RPD officers assisted VA police with the man and learned he was out of compliance and had failed to register as a sex offender for multiple years in a row.

The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was detained without bail.
