A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is forecast with accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with up to 12 inches over higher terrain. Winds will be gusting as high as 35 miles per hour.
The Advisory area includes the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. This applies to highways 230 and 138 near Diamond Lake, Highway 62 south of Crater Lake, and Highway 140. In addition, it includes portions of Klamath and Lake counties.
Forecasters said travel could be very difficult. Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
