The Art Gallery at Umpqua Community College presents “Fire and Ice” by Bob Keefer on display through May 6th. The selection of hand-painted photographs explores the strange beauty of climate-driven devastation in the forests of western Oregon and are on display at the Whipple Fine Arts Center weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A reception and artist talk will take place May 6th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Keefer is both a writer and a photographer who graduated from Harvard University in 1975 and spent nearly five decades as a newspaperman before retiring in 2024 to turn his attention to landscape and nature photography. Keefer wrote about art and artists for most of the 30 years he worked at The Register-Guard in Eugene. He served as Arts Editor for Eugene Weekly from 2017 to 2024.
