A Myrtle Creek woman was jailed following a reported disturbance on Sunday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 10:35 a.m. a deputy responded after a caller said there was a disturbance between 29-year-old Tiva Hope and herself in the 6000 block of Dole Road in the Myrtle Creek area. The victim said that Hope had strangled her and hit her on the head. The victim said she was afraid for her life while Hope was allegedly choking her because she could not breathe.
Some of the incident was captured on camera which reportedly showed the suspect wrapping her arm around the victim’s neck, pulling her into a bedroom. Hope was contacted and taken into custody. She was charged with a felony count of strangulation, 4th-degree assault, menacing and improper use of 911. Hope was detained without bail.
