March 28, 2025 10 50 a.m.

A transient was jailed for a reported disorderly conduct incident on Thursday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:00 p.m. several callers said an unknown subject was walking in the road and yelling near the intersection of Highway 99 North and Wilber Road in the Wilber area. Two callers reported the subject was halting traffic completely. Some callers claimed the person was throwing items toward their vehicles.

Deputies contacted the 54-year-old woman who had been contacted earlier near the Wilbur Cemetery. She was in poor spirits and was not very cooperative. She was charged with second-degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief and was detained without bail. She was released early on Friday.
