ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL EUGENE MAN FOLLOWING OVERNIGHT TRAFFIC STOP

Roseburg Police jailed a Eugene man following an overnight traffic stop early Friday morning.

An RPD report said shortly after 2:30 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1400 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.  The driver identified himself as 38-year-old Chet Evans. Evans had no license or any form of identification and was detained for failure to carry and present.

When detaining him, officers noted drug paraphernalia in plain view. Evans returned as a corrections offender out of Lane County. His probation officer was contacted and authorized a detainer. Evans was transported to corrections and reportedly found to be in possession of .79 grams of fentanyl.

Evans was charged with a probation violation and was cited and released for unlawful possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance and failure to carry and present. He as detained without bail.
