In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Umpqua Actors Community Theatre will present Little Women the Musical, opening on Friday April 4th.

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, the production follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested. Her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her she must do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Little Women the Musical is on stage Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. through April 20th. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children ages 12 and under. Purchase tickets at www.uact-theatre.com or by calling 673-2125. City o
