A Roseburg man was jailed after an alleged menacing incident in Green.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 5:50 p.m. a deputy responded to the 200 block of Emils Way after a caller said that a man was pointing a firearm at a victim.

Upon arriving on the scene, the deputy observed the man, identified as 29-year-old Enrique Miguel Pennington, to have a pistol in his hand. The deputy gave Pennington commands to drop the pistol, which he eventually complied with. The suspect was detained and secured in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Stories on scene as well as security footage of the incident reportedly corroborated that Pennington had removed a pistol from his shoulder bag and loaded a round into the chamber. At one point, he brought the pistol up past the first victim and waved the gun into the air. The recording was short and did not catch the full incident.

The victim claimed that at one point, Pennington had pointed the pistol right at him. Pennington was taken into custody and charged with two counts each of menacing and pointing a firearm at another, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession/concealment of firearms. He was detained without bail.
