A juvenile was taken to the hospital after his bicycle slid into a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

A Sutherlin Police report said at approximately 5:20 p.m. the child was riding his BMX bike westbound on West Central Avenue toward the intersection with the northbound Interstate 5 exit 136.  A sedan was stopped at the intersection, waiting for the light. The juvenile was unable to stop as the bike didn’t have brakes. The boy laid the bike down and it slid into the right front side of the vehicle. The juvenile was checked by medical and then was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for observation.
