A Days Creek man was jailed for a felony count of strangulation and fourth-degree assault on Monday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 9:00 p.m. units responded to the 7100 block of Tiller Trail Highway in the Days Creek area. A victim went to a neighboring house and said she had been involved in a disturbance while both people were intoxicated. The woman claimed the man pushed her to the ground, strangled her with his hands and injured her wrists. The victim had injuries that were consistent with her story.

The 49-year-old suspect was interviewed and was ultimately taken into custody. He was detained without bail.
