A Winston woman was jailed following an alleged assault incident early Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:10 a.m. the 33-year-old suspect and a victim got into an argument at a residence in the 1000 block of Byron Creek Road. During the argument, the woman reportedly threw a metal can, hitting the victim in the head. The victim had a swollen area and a small laceration and complained of significant pain.

The suspect was charged with fourth-degree assault. She was detained without bail.
