One person was taken to the hospital, following a side-by-side accident early Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said it took place at approximately 1:10 a.m. in the 8000 block of Upper Cow Creek Road in the Azalea area.

The driver and passenger were riding in the hills when the driver went on the main road to get to another side road. He was going approximately 30 miles per hour when he lost control, and the vehicle started fishtailing. It crashed off the side of the road, rolling at least once.

The driver, an Idleyld Park man, was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. The passenger was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Friends planned to recover the side-by-side later in the morning. There were no reports of intoxication being involved in the accident.
