Roseburg Police dealt with a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday evening.
An RPD report said at 6:20 p.m. a motorist was heading southbound on Northeast Stephens Street, approaching the intersection with Northeast Chestnut Avenue. A second driver attempted to make a left turn from Stephens onto Chestnut.
The first driver swerved to the right, trying to avoid a more head-on crash. Both drivers claimed to have a green light. An employee from a nearby business told officers that the first driver had the green light. The second driver couldn’t present valid insurance.
Both vehicles were damaged but were able to be driven from the scene. The driver who caused the accident was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and driving uninsured.
