FLOOD ADVISORY FOR NORTHWEST DOUGLAS COUNTY

March 16, 2025 8:20 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for northwest Douglas County as of 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Forecasters said water over the roadways with elevated river or stream flows is expected. Ponding water in urban and other areas is occurring or is imminent. Additional landslides on local highways are forecast.

Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Locations that will experience flooding include Roseburg, Sutherlin, Drain, Camas Valley, Umpqua and surrounding locations.

Forecasters said motorists should turn around when encountering flooded roads. Life-threatening flooding of creeks, roads, and normally dry areas is likely. The heavy rain will trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.
