A Riddle man was jailed for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and possession of burglar tools on Wednesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s report said at 9:50 a.m. a deputy observed a sedan with switched plates parked at the Jordan Creek Rest Area on Interstate 5 near Myrtle Creek. The deputy knew that a 46-year-old man in the vehicle had been recently released from jail and was likely with a 45-year-old woman from Canyonville, against his supervision stipulations.

His parole officer authorized that the man be detained, which took place without incident. The woman with him consented to a search of the vehicle where usable amounts of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was reportedly located. Deputies were also allegedly able to find burglary tools on the man’s person and in the vehicle during the search. He was detained without bail.

The woman was cited and released for meth.
