GOODS FROM THE WOODS FORESTRY TOUR MARCH 21ST

March 10, 2025 3:20 a.m.

The Oregon State University Extension Forestry and Natural Resources program and local partners will hold a walking tour, called “Goods from the Woods” on March 21st.

The event will take place at the Glide Educational Forest from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is a celebration of the International Day of Forests. Participants will discover the uses of native plants, guided by a variety of experts. During the walk, attendees will learn about the hidden treasures of the forest and discover the value of non-timber forest products within our native ecosystems. Organizers said the surroundings are peaceful and will enrich people’s understanding of the plants that are often overlooked.

The event is presented by OSU Extension, Douglas Small Woodlands Association, Umpqua Oak Partnership, Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, Umpqua Native Plant Partnership, Umpqua Native Plant Society and Douglas County. The event sponsors are AG West and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute.

While the event is free, pre-registration is required. To register or learn more, go to: http://beav.es/GHc
