A Sutherlin man was jailed following an alleged assault incident on Wednesday night.

A Sutherlin Police Department report said at 6:55 p.m. the 68-year-old man allegedly assaulted a victim in his residence in the 1200 block of East Central Avenue. The report said the victim had injuries to her head which required medical attention.

The man was charged with fourth-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained on $8,750 bail.
