GLIDE MAN JAILED FOR WARRANTS AND DRUG CHARGE

A Glide man was jailed for multiple warrants and for unlawful possession of methamphetamine on Wednesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:30 p.m. a 53-year-old man, also from Glide, was stopped near the intersection of Highway 138 East and Brown Street in Glide. He was arrested for a misdemeanor count of driving while suspended but was released in lieu of custody.

70-year-old Thomas Murphy was the passenger and was arrested for 8 misdemeanor counts of failure to register as a sex offender and one felony count of the same charge. A K-9 was deployed on the vehicle and gave a final alert. Reportedly located in the man’s pocket, was approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine.
