SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING RECKLESS BURNING INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following a reckless burning incident on Tuesday night.

An SPD report said at 9:00 p.m. an officer found 44-year-old Matthew Rosenberry standing over a large metal bin that was on fire at a business in the 100 block of North Myrtle Street. Rosenberry was told not to leave and to come down from a retaining wall. The man ran off but was caught nearby.

Rosenberry was charged with reckless burning, resisting arrest, second and third-degree courts of criminal mischief and for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $26,250.
