Roseburg Police jailed a man for a theft and a warrant that was out for his arrest on Tuesday.
An RPD report said just before 7:00 p.m. the 42-year-old was identified as the suspect who allegedly stole $3 from a victim’s wallet while she gave him a ride from the Department of Human Services to a store earlier in the day. The victim saw him at another business later in the day and officers contacted the man. The suspect admitted to the theft. Officers learned he also had an active warrant. The man was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with third-degree theft and the warrant. Bail was set at $6,250.
