A Reedsport man was jailed for driving while suspended on Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 5:30 p.m. the 41-year-old passed a deputy while driving on Highway 38 near East Railroad Avenue in the Reedsport area. The deputy knew the man’s license was suspended and saw that the tags on his vehicle were expired.

The man claimed he was using the vehicle to get to work and didn’t have insurance. The vehicle was registered to the driver who was suspended criminally. He was taken into custody. The man was detained without bail.
