Three vehicles encountered a landslide northwest of Roseburg on Sunday night, resulting in two of the vehicles being damaged.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:50 p.m. a landslide occurred in the 11600 block of Garden Valley Road. The vehicles drove through the large pile of rocks and mud and did not have time to stop beforehand as the slide was in the curve of the road. The first two vehicles sustained flat tires with damage to the underside, causing oil to leak. The third vehicle was able to stop in the middle of the rock pile and sustained no damage.
There were no injuries. However, a power line was down because of the slide. A county road crew cleared the road and put out signs to alert drivers.
The Douglas County Public Works Department is assessing the slide situation.
