Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported robbery incident on Saturday afternoon.
An RPD report said at approximately 1:15 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard regarding an in-progress vehicle theft. Upon arrival, officers contacted a victim and learned that a male subject, later identified as 39-year-old Aaron Noah attempted to steal the victim’s sedan, while the victim was inside a business.
The victim confronted Noah, who was reportedly trying to leave in the vehicle, and stood in front of it. Noah reportedly accelerated towards the victim, hitting the man causing him to break the windshield and passenger mirror. The victim was able to pull Noah out of the vehicle, which caused Noah to flee the scene.
The victim sustained a laceration to his hand as a result of the collision and was treated at CHI Mercy Medical Center for his injuries. Officers found Noah hiding in the bushes close to a nearby creek and took him into custody.
Noah was charged with first-degree robbery, assault in the second-degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and driving while suspended. He was cited for driving uninsured and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
Noah was detained without bail.
