Roseburg Police jailed a man Thursday for a reported prior assault incident.

An RPD report said just after 10:00 a.m. the 27-year-old was contacted in the 600 block of West Fairhaven Street. An investigation revealed that on February 17th, the suspect reportedly flicked a juvenile victim’s mouth hard enough to split their lip and caused bruising.

The man admitted that he was disciplining the victim for throwing a tantrum. He was charged with third-degree assault. The man was detained without bail.
