ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED PRIOR HARASSMENT INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man Thursday for an alleged prior harassment incident.

An RPD report at 3:45 a.m. an officer had probable cause to arrest 41-year-old Nicholas Thompkins for an incident that allegedly occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway on February 14th.

At that time, Thompkins reportedly forced his way into a vehicle and punched a victim in the face. His vehicle was spotted while parked at a business in 200 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard by another officer. Officers contacted Thompkins sitting in his vehicle and took him into custody without incident. His parole officer authorized a detainer.

Thompkins was charged with harassment. Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and a parole violation. He was detained on $8,750 bail.
