MOBILE HOME FIRE IN GREEN LIMITED TO ONE ROOM

February 27, 2025 9:40 a.m.

A mobile home was damaged in a fire in Green on Wednesday afternoon.

Battalion Chief Ryan Felker of Central Douglas Fire & Rescue said just after 12:20 p.m. crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 200 block of Berry Loop in Green, just west of Interstate 5. Felker said initial reports indicated that there was fire in the ceiling of the residence and flames were visible.

Felker said a quick response from CDF&R is credited to the fire being contained to a single room and its contents, stopping it from rapidly spreading throughout the structure or adjacent residences. While the home suffered damage to the area of origin, the occupant was able to escape from the structure safely. No injuries were reported by the resident or the firefighters working on the scene.

CDF&R responded to the incident with three engines and two command units, totaling 12 personnel. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Pacific Power and Umpqua Valley Ambulance aided in the response.
