Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation warrant on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 9:50 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on a sedan on Interstate 5 northbound, about a mile south of Winchester for several traffic violations. During the stop, officers learned the 55-year-old driver had the warrant for his arrest out the Oregon State Parole Board. Officers detained the man in handcuffs and allegedly located narcotics paraphernalia in the man’s possession.

A search warrant was written and granted for the vehicle. Officers reportedly located a small bindle of white powder. The substance was sent to the crime lab for testing. After the warrant was served, the vehicle was impounded by a towing company. The driver was detained without bail.
