Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported strangulation incident on Saturday night.

An RPD report said shortly after 8:30 p.m. a female victim called dispatch and said that 32-year-old Ryan Laughery had beaten her up at an apartment in the 1100 block of Southeast Main Street. Her face was swollen up and her thumb was broken.

The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where she was admitted due to injuries. Laughery was detained without incident and admitted to officers that he and the victim got into a fight and wrestled around.

He was charged with a felony count of strangulation, 4th degree assault, and menacing. Laughery was detained on $10,000 bail.
