Roseburg Police jailed a man Monday for an alleged previous theft incident.

An RPD report said at 3:50 p.m. officers contacted the 35-year-old at the Parole and Probation office regarding a previous shoplift incident from a store in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway, which allegedly took place on February 1st.

The suspect admitted to leaving the business with approximately $200 worth of merchandise which was returned to the store. His parole officer authorized a detainer and the man was charged with second-degree theft and a parole violation. He was booked and lodged at corrections.
