The Oregon State University Extension Service has its Spring into Gardening event happening on Saturday, March 8th.
It will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4;00 p.m. at Umpqua Community College. The event will feature OSU faculty, horticultural experts, and Master Gardener volunteers speaking on 17 subjects over the course of four 1-hour sessions. Topics will include sustainable gardening, pollinators, native plants, apple grafting, flowers, and more. A full catalog is available online or in the Extension Service office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, next to the courthouse.
The day will begin with a keynote address by OSU Extension Service Douglas County Small Farms coordinator Logan Bennett, who will speak on “The Principles of Integrated Pest Management”.
Admission is $40 per person and includes the keynote and the four sessions. Participants should bring their own lunch, though snacks and refreshments will be provided.
