Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported disturbance on Saturday.

An RPD report said just before 1:00 p.m. officers contacted a woman regarding an alleged incident in the 1400 block of Northwest Veterans Way, on the Roseburg VA Campus.

The disturbance involved a person she was in a relationship with. It started over a laundry dispute. An investigation revealed the 51-year-old hit the victim in the face, strangled her and prevented her from calling 911 to report the incident. The man was identified as Brandon Murray. He was charged with strangulation, interference with making a report and harassment. The man was detained without bail.
