Celebration of Literacy has its signature event on Saturday at Wildlife Safari.
Dive into Books will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Safari Village. The game park opens at 9:00 a.m. All vehicles with Douglas County children will be given free entry to the drive through.
Families can visit the village to get free books, exchange a book, enjoy face painting, and more. The village dome will house booths from many organizations including the Japanese Sister City, SMART, the Canyonville Library and more. There will be a fishing pond as well.
The winners of the poster contest and the One County, One Book program will be on display near the Cheryl Ford Room. Winners of the OCOB program will be announced and presented with awards at 2:00 p.m. near the display.
