ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL UNKNOWN MAN FOR ALLEGED CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Roseburg Police jailed an unknown man following alleged criminal mischief on Wednesday night.

An RPD report said at 6:15 p.m. officers responded after a caller said a transient male had slashed a tire in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. Officers reviewed security footage and contacted a male matching the footage that was two blocks away.

The man provided false information and refused to identify himself. He was taken into custody without incident. Once in jail, the suspect refused to let deputies fingerprint him to learn his identity. He is listed as John Doe and is charged with second-degree criminal mischief and giving false information to a police officer. The man was detained on $12,500 bail.
