SUTHERLIN POLICE CITE TWO IN RECKLESS DRIVING INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police cited two Washington State residents following a reckless driving incident on Tuesday night.

An SPD report said at 11:20 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 5 southbound near the Sutherlin exit after it was observed traveling at speeds between 107 and 115 miles per hour in freezing temperatures. The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Kent, was cited for reckless driving. The vehicle’s owner, a 20-year-old man from Auburn, was cited for permitting unlawful operation because he was the person responsible for the vehicle. Both people were released after the citations were issued.
