A Shady Cove man was not injured following a single vehicle accident in the Tiller area on Tuesday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:55 a.m. a deputy responded to the 25000 block of Tiller Trail Highway after a text to 911 advised that there had been a vehicle crash. The driver- an 18-year-old, self-extricated and walked to the Tiller Fire Station.
The man said he over corrected his vehicle after losing traction on a turn. It went over an embankment approximately 30 feet and landed approximately 20 feet away from the South Umpqua River. Both front air bags deployed, and the driver was wearing his seat belt when the wreck took place.
The driver was medically evaluated and arranged for a tow to recover the vehicle.
