A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect through 9:00 a.m. Wednesday for much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said very cold temperatures with morning lows around 12 degrees to 23 degrees are forecast. At higher elevations in mountain areas, low temperatures around 10 degrees to minus 10 degrees will be common.
The Advisory area includes central and eastern Douglas County, Josephine County and eastern Curry County along with the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, Klamath Basin, parts of Lake County and surrounding areas.
Forecasters said very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
