SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING REPORTED BURGLARY

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following a reported burglary on Monday.

An SPD report said shortly after 6:00 a.m. a victim was alerted that someone was on their property trying to steal tools in the 200 block of Dovetail Lane. The victim confronted the suspect as he was coming out of the shop with a drill in his hand. The suspect and the victim had a brief struggle in the driveway before the suspect ran away.

The man was identified as 39-year-old Kenneth Ranck-Calderon. He was located later parked in the driveway of a person he is restrained from. Ranck-Calderon was charged with second-degree counts of burglary, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, attempting to commit a class A felony, and violation of a restraining order. He was detained without bail.
