February is National Heart Health Month.

CHI Mercy Health’s Shaw Heart Center and Centennial Shaw Heart and Vascular Specialists will have their second annual Heart Health Fair open to the community on Thursday.

The event will be held on Mercy’s campus in Conference Rooms A & B, located on the first floor. Attendees should enter through the south visitor entrance and follow the signs.

Mercy and other community partners will share about living a healthy heart lifestyle from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Featured speakers are Shaw Heart Medical Director Dr. Roger Dreiling, and Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Ahmad Damati.

Activities and topics to be covered will include:

*Blood pressure and BMI readings

*Dental hygiene and its effects on heart health

*Mental health and stress effects on the heart.

*Smoking cessation

*Emergency preparedness

*Healthy snacks and activities

*Therapy dogs

The event is free and open to the community.

Supporting community partners include: Adapt Integrated Health Care, CHI Mercy Health – Mercy Foundation, CHI Mercy Health – Volunteer Services, Douglas Public Health Network, Thrive Umpqua and Umpqua Health Alliance.
