ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged assault incident on Sunday.

An RPD report said just after 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance at Holiday Inn in the 300 block of West Harvard Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined that 30-year-old Alexander Harrelson had refused to leave the business after being asked to by employees.

When approached by an employee, Harrelson reportedly hit the man with a large stick resulting in physical injury to the victim’s wrist. It was also discovered that the suspect was a registered sex offender and had not registered since 2022. Harrelson was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with second-degree counts of assault and disorderly conduct, menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of failure to register as a sex offender. Harrelson was detained without bail.
