WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS IN SOUTHERN OREGON

February 2, 2025 2:15 p.m.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through 10:00 p.m. Monday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected, with additional snow accumulations of 12 to 14 inches.

The Warning area includes the southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to the Siskiyou Summit on Interstate 5, Mt. Ashland, Lake of the Woods and Crater Lake. The highest totals are anticipated towards the Oregon/California border.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the Monday morning commute. People should delay unnecessary travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure vehicles are winterized and in good working order.
