The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking funds for educational materials.
A letter put out by Sheriff John Hanlin said DCSO is currently coordinating its child safety, bullying and drug education program in an effort to keep children safe and drug free. Hanlin said that safety prevention and educational materials will also be provided to the senior community.
Hanlin said the materials were selected from the National Child Safety Council, a federal tax-exempt organization that is dedicated to the safety and well being of children. Financial support is needed to ensure the success of the program, according to Hanlin.
Suggested donation levels to provide materials are:
$250 for 25 children and seniors
$500 for 50 children and seniors
*$1,000 for 100 children and seniors
Hanlin said any donation is greatly appreciated. Donations can be mailed to DCSO at 1035 Southeast Douglas Avenue in Roseburg, 97470. Checks should be made out to the National Child Safety Council. The funds go to the national organization but can only be used by DCSO.
