ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL TWO, CITE ONE FOR PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police jailed two people and cited one person for prohibited camping on Monday.

An RPD report said at 11:15 a.m. officers contacted a 27-year-old woman and a 45-year- old man at their camp near the intersection of West Harvard Avenue and Northwest Stewart Parkway, just east of the Stewart Park Bridge.

Both men had prior convictions for prohibited camping and were taken into custody. A search allegedly revealed that both had a small amount of methamphetamine in their possession. Each of the men was detained for prohibited camping and cited for the meth charge. Bail for each of them was set at $5,000.

At about the same time, a 45-year-old man was contacted at his camp about 50 yards east of the first camp. He was cited and released for prohibited camping
