The Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District is recruiting for multiple positions for the upcoming fire season.

Public Information Office Natalie Weber said that includes entry-level and experienced firefighters, dispatchers and detection specialists. Weber said about 130 jobs will be available in Jackson and Josephine counties. These seasonal positions generally span from June through October, however duration may vary depending on conditions. Weber both the Medford and Grants Pass offices are actively hiring. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision health coverage and paid holidays, as well as personal business, vacation and sick leave.

The deadline for applying for all positions is February 28th. However, the first pull of applicants for review will begin February 6th, so applying early is highly encouraged. All jobs are listed on the ODFW Southwest District’s website: ODF SWO Fire News
