A Yoncalla man was jailed following a reported assault incident early Friday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:50 a.m. the 31-year-old and a victim allegedly got into an argument at a residence in the 500 block of Bridges Street in Yoncalla.
Both parties were reportedly yelling at each other when the suspect reportedly threw a plastic drink pitcher at the victim, striking her in the lip. The victim’s lips were split during the altercation. The man then allegedly punched a hole in the door and left.
The suspect then walked over to a nearby home, reportedly threatening the resident before leaving the area. The man would not tell the deputy where he was at. He was later taken into custody and charged with 4th-degree assault. The suspect was detained without bail.
